Hero Editor Version 1.04 - Final INSTALLATION and USAGE: 1) If you are using Windows 2000, NT, or XP, then make sure you have Administrator rights when you install Hero Editor. If you are the only user of your computer, then probably already have Administrator rights. Also, make sure that you have installed all patches to your operating system. If not, you will probably get errors about not having various windows files installed correctly, or that you cannot copy files, such as the Setup.LST file. 2) After you have installed and started Hero Editor, press and release the F1 key, and a Help file will pop up that will give you a description about how to use some of the features of Hero Editor.

3) Hero Editor usually requires that you are using an English version of Windows and your computer is set for single byte letters/Unicode, NOT multiple byte letters/UniCode. (NOTE: I have never had this problem, but others tell me this solved the problem for them.) From your Control Panel (Start Settings Control Panel) run Regional Settings, look for something about Unicode. Make sure the Unicode setting is for single bytes and that you have the language setting for English (in both the Regional Options tab, and the Advanced tab). If using WinXP, it might also help to right-click on Hero Editor.exe, select Properties, and in the Compatibility tab, select Windows 95 mode. If set incorrectly, you will probably get error messages such as 'unknown stat found: 21'. 4) If pictures don't seem to line up properly, you probably need to set your screen to use Small Fonts. 5) Make sure you have your screen resolution set to at least 800x600, or you won't see the buttons at the bottom of Hero Editor.

When loading a brand new (necromancer) character file from 1.14d, I get an ERROR window with the following message. 'Item Code (`sc) not found.' Clicking 'OK' gives me the following error.

'Trying to process item with unknown format. This item will be deleted from character inventory. WARNING: There may still be corrupt items in your inventory. In options tab, select 'Complete Checking (slower loading, but safer)', and try loading this file again.' The complete checking is set in options, and the item it seems to remove is the starting wand. Is there a problem?

So I'm not sure what to do. I just downloaded diablo 2 from blizzard, and I have version 1.14.

Lord Of Destruction Cd-key

I'm trying to use hero editor for single player mode. Every time I press open on hero editor, it tells me that it cant find my diablo game. From the research that I have done, I think it has to do with the save file? I think before the patch the save file was C: Program File (x86) Diablo II save. After the patch it got changed to C: Users charles Saved Games Diablo II. Well I have gone into regedit under NewSavePath and I have changed the code to the first one. After I do this, I go back into the game, and I have tried making a new character and saving it. As soon as I do, the code changes right back to C: Users charles Saved Games Diablo II.

And hero editor cant find my game or my character. What am I doing wrong? Would it be easier to find a older version of diablo and download that one? If I do that, will I have a hard time with it finding my characters if it gets patched to the new version? Ok so ive just downloaded the game and the LoD expansion, had some fun remembering my childhood and then decided to get this hero editor thing to have a little extra fun. First, it couldnt find my characters (problem resolved by reading this thread) but i still run into the issue of the editor not being able to import the file.

It gives me an ERROR message saying 'Character file size too small! Either this file is probably not a valid character file, or your computer needs to be set for single byte letter/unicode, NOT multiple byte letters/Unicode.' I have 64bit Windowa7, ive gone into regional settings and cant find anywhere to change the unicode format.

This is a tutorial walkthrough video of diablo 2. This explains each character class in Diablo 2 and LoD - Lord Of Destruction and their background story. This is not game play although i have a Diablo Series franchise on my page that has game play of the game. This video is for players that have not played any of the Diablo Games.

GamePlay: Diablo II's storyline progresses through four chapters or 'Acts'. Each act following a more or less predetermined path, although there is some random-level generation in wilderness areas and dungeons between key cities.

There are a list of quests which are usually required to advance the story, though some are optional. In contrast to the first Diablo whose levels consisted of descending deeper and deeper into a Gothic-themed dungeon and Hell, Diablo II's style is much more varied. While Act I is similar to the original, Act II mimics canaan desert while Act III is supposedly based on the Maya civilization jungles. Act IV takes place in Hell and is the shortest, with just three quests compared to the other Acts that have six. The Lord of Destruction expansion adds Act V which continues the story where Act IV left off.

7 In addition to the acts, there are three sequential difficulty levels: Normal, Nightmare, and Hell; completing the game (four Acts in the original or five Acts in the expansion) on a difficulty setting will open up the next level. On higher difficulties, monsters are stronger and are resistant to an element, experience is penalized on dying, and the player's resistances are handicapped. However, better items are rewarded to players as they go through higher difficulties. A character retains all abilities and items between difficulties, and may return to a lower difficulty at any time.

Players can also create a hardcore character. In normal mode, the player can resurrect their character if killed and resume playing, while a hardcore character has only one life. If killed, the character is permanently dead and unplayable, and all items and equipment on that character will be lost unless another friendly character has the 'loot' icon checked.Characters. Diablo II allows the player to choose between five different character classes: Amazon, Necromancer, Barbarian, Sorceress, and Paladin. Each character has different strengths and weaknesses and sets of skills to choose from, as well as varying beginning attributes.
