Tokyo Bus Guide 2 Pc

1002

If you were into the next generation thing back in the early days of Dreamcast, you may remember. A driving simulation by developer Forty Five, this game let player try their hands at Tokyo's longer bus routes, requiring strict adherence to driving rules. Following a port to the PS2 back in 2001, is now back with a proper sequel for Sony's system, (in proper Japanese, Tokyo Bus Annai 2).

The basics of the game are the same. Taking control of one of two real-world city busses used in Tokyo, you get to experience all facets of driving a bus. You'll have to press buttons at the right time to make announcements, open and close the doors, switch your blinkers on and off, check your rear-view mirrors, and above all else, protect the rules of the road by not going too fast, not running red lights, and especially not hitting people or other objects.

Two modes of play are available: Isho Mode and Driver Mode. In Driver Mode, you play as a bus driver and work your way through eighteen courses. Break driving rules, and you lose points; lose enough points and the game ends. The original Tokyo Bus Guide was pretty strict, so you may want to practice your driving via the game's practice mode, which gives precise instruction on driving your bus.

This time around, passengers will let you know how you're doing by sending you mail following their ride. Isho mode is an interesting twist on two player play. One player drives while the other player takes on a passenger support role, helping passengers push the button indicating they'd like to get off the bus. This mode is being designed for children to play alongside their parents. The recreation of real Tokyo settings, complete with an improved graphics engine, should perk interest in Japan, as should the included GT Force and GT Force Pro support. As with the original, though, we expect this game to remain an overseas-only property. Those looking to import will be able to do so in April.
