Giveaway Rules For an in-depth explanation of our giveaway rules don't forget to check our. The Master Race is generous. When we do giveaways we do it within the bounds of our subreddit and only for subreddit members.
Feel free to give prizes as you see fit, but don't mandate subscriptions or other benefits. You can post about your channel or project, but don't make it a requirement to visit, comment or subscribe to an external place to enter a giveaway or to increase the likelihood of winning. Even if you do a giveaway on the subreddit, you can not directly promote a specific giveaway happening elsewhere.
Consider PMs as a safer way to hand out keys. Users giving away physical items must provide photo proof of ownership (including their username and date) in the giveaway thread. Shipping fees must be entirely financed by the user doing the giveaway (limiting the winner's location is allowed). No conditional (I will only giveaway if) giveaways. If you start it, someone must win it. You cannot delete your giveaway once you post it.
Giveaways shouldn't last an absurd amount of time, nor should they be absurdly difficult to enter or win. Do not choose your giveaway winners based on the number of upvotes or downvotes they get. Giveaways to benefit registered charities must be verified by moderators. All other requests for donations (monetary or otherwise) are not allowed as per rule #8. Only one entry per user to any giveaway unless otherwise stated by the giveaway poster. Under special circumstances, we allow giveaways to require users to visit a page outside the subreddit, but that must conform to our.
Check the PCMR communities elsewhere: Chats: Charity:. So i bought Wolfenstein: The New Order from some website but they sent me the code for the German edition on steam. I Messaged them about this but they have a really bad messaging system so i went to Paypal to set up a dispute. This got me a full refund but as i redeemed the key to my steam account i still have the game. I was wondering if there is anyway to change the language as it is all in German aha. I have tried contacting Bethesda about this and they told me to contact steam.
When i got through steam support it just links me in a circle back to Bethesda's website. Any help on this would be great thanks:). It is a great game, though I had to pirate mine because Bethesda made sure I could only play the German language version by illegally region locking the discs, so I couldn't even import a non-censored version and play it.
Even after they were told that the region locking was against the law, they still refused to remove it for non-digital versions, which goes against consumer law here in Germany that states we are legally entitled to import games or films that have otherwise been censored and/or banned from public sale in our shops. You are wrong. The law is clear that a German citizen has the legal right to import any product, be it movie, book, or game, even if said product has been banned from general sale. Bethesda were well aware of this, as they have released multiple games in this country over the last decade.
They even went so far as to censor the Austrian and Swiss versions of the game, even though neither country has a law prohibiting the use of Nazi symbolism. Bethesda just decided 'Oh, they are German countries, right? So we'll censor it there too.' Of course the Austrians and the Swiss went fucking nuts, and Bethesda removed the region locking. When German gamers pointed out that they, too, had a right to import the game, Bethesda stuck its fingers in their ears and ignored us.
Driver downloader. They know the laws, they just decided they couldn't be fucking bothered to abide by them. For what it's worth, most German gamers think the law is fucking stupid and want it changed, and we are working on that, but in the meantime we need companies like Bethesda to not be complete fuckarses.

Is no longer available on retail and was pulled from digital storefronts several years ago. The game was published by Activision and Bethesda acquired the publishing rights to the Wolfenstein franchise with their purchase of id Software in 2014.
I do not know if the rights to older games were transferred to Bethesda - who owns the 2009's Wolfenstein? Out of necessity I have fiddled with a cracked release and it looks like several mandatory tweaks only work with the Steam version - Wolfenstein suffers from console FOV ( 60) and prominent, unrealistic head bob. EDIT: I have been permanently banned, the moderators consider GameCopyWorld as piracy. Moderators refused to lift my ban. Bethesda currently owns the rights to this game.
We can only guess why they have decided not to put it on sale like the rest of the Wolfenstein titles, although this quote by a Bethesda staff member may shed some light: ' We try not to include that game as part of our story. Personally, I think that Activision did a crap job' (this is a quote from a Gamebusters interview, although the is now defunct.) Last year I played through the entire modern Wolfenstein franchise, from Return To Castle Wolfenstein to The Old Blood. I tried to purchase a Steam code for Wolfenstein 2009 in places like G2A and Kinguin, which, despite their deservedly bad reputation, are great places to buy games that are no longer for sale (such as the original Prey). I had no luck, however. Seeing how my money wouldn't go to the original developer/publisher anyway, I just torrented the game and played it from beginning to end. It's a very good game, although clearly a product of its era. It's much more linear and slower than its predecessor and there is a lot more handholding, although the graphics hold up quite well with a lot of eye candy, and the light RPG elements are a welcome, albeit kind of irrelevant, departure from the original style of gameplay.
It pales in comparison with The New Order, though (then again, most modern FPS do.). The game isn't bad but I'm not sure if it is memorable compared to what else was out there.
I'd never played Wolfenstein prior to the 2009 entry and I enjoyed the game, however at the same time it isn't particularly iconic for me when looking back. Also when watching game-play videos it just reminds me very much of the COD WW2 games. Compare that to the new Wolfenstein games and I feel that they have a more refined art-style and a distinct style of game-play. Personally it is the best shooter I've played in a few years. From Bethesda's POV I can see why they wouldn't sell the old game as it seems generic and could devalue the more stylised efforts which they've made. I don't agree with that stance however, I can see the point they are making. I was making the point that it wasn't anything spectacular, COD was the standard at the time and Wolfenstein didn't evolve to the extent it needed to, I wasn't saying that it was a copy of COD because it clearly is not.

What I am saying is that it lacked a distinctive style, I'm pretty sure I could tell the new game from a screenshot whereas 2009 I wouldn't have been able to, same goes for the game-play. Also, arguably every arcade WW2 shooter is a derivative of Wolfenstein in a sense due to the legacy of games like 3D and RTCW but as I said that's not a point I was even suggesting. Both the hub world & the Veil set 2009 apart from the other games in the series and of the time; I would instantly recognize that green overlay or the enemy designs. Which is a stylistic choice, but much more, that is the inclusion of magic, something most WW2 era games exclude. I was disappointed TNO was lacking any magical references until we got TOB, which was too damn short. That is just my opinion and I get what you are saying, many people found the game lacking, most Raven games need just a little bit more (Quake 4). I understand that, I've played it and it is the thing that got me started on Wolfenstein, however for me the ideas it tried weren't good enough to set it apart from what else was out there and that was mainly down to game-play in my book.
Obviously we both see the game in a different light, which is fine, I just wanted to get across that I wasn't saying the game was a clone, rather it just didn't do enough IMO to distinguish itself. As for TNO and TOB I liked the stylised world of the games, I haven't played a game set in an alternate future that was as well realised as that and I enjoyed the gameplay and level design that went along with it. Ending of TNO was a bit disappointing and TOB wasn't as good as the main game IMO. Lengthwise I think it was about right for an expansion and it matches the length of COD 1's United Offensive which was a similar type of add-on, then again it was probably too short for what it tried to achieve so maybe it was harmed by being an add-on rather than a sequel. BTW what is your opinion of the multiplayer of Wolf 09? I personally didn't enjoy it much at the time but I did enjoy the story, I just wonder looking back if it detracted from the game. Also have you played the older Wolfensteins?
Pes 2012 English Language Patch
I've only played 2009 - TOB so I don't have much idea what the others played like and how TNO compares TBH to RTCW etc. Its certainly not the best in the series but I don't think it should be left to die. The MP however, that was pretty forgettable and moreso disappointing due to the exclusion of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory for various reasons.
What I really want from id is not going to happen anytime soon, a DOOM variant of Enemy Territory. There is so much they could do with that series, or even a cross over event that connected time/reality, one that crossed over with BJ's time/events & or the Quake events. If you enjoy the older 90's style FPS games (HL, DOOM, Blood, Duke 3D, SiN, Daikatana) I'd really suggest checking out RtCW, IMO it is the best in the series.
